The curated selection is chosen by this year’s guest curator, esteemed photography Professor, Dr Mark Sealy. We take a closer look in our detailed head-to-head comparison of the Canon R5 versus the Sony A7RV. It was used for portraiture, landscape work, architectural photography and art photography. Each seedling’s light environment was recorded through the use of hemispherical photography during the 1996 and 1998 field seasons. Public interest and knowledge of photography increased as a result of a number of key public events. I do not deny the possibility of such attempts, but it remains questionable whether fingerprinting had the same value as photography for colonial social typology.

We will encourage you to think about photography as a form of practice-led research. You will have the opportunity to attend artists’ talks and participate in workshops led by visiting researchers and practitioners. Everything you learn on this module will help you understand the principles of research enquiry and how to apply it to your work.

Are some types of landscape photography inevitably doomed to failure? If they proceed from a desire to depict what Immanuel Kant referred to as “the sublime”, then this may well be the case. A collection of studies and photography series that showcase the intrigue, beauty and diversity of human life. These TED Talks bring context and nuanced perspectives to subjects surrounding history, race, socioeconomics and more.

Thanks to the transferrable skills you learn during your time studying a photography degree at University of Salford, you could also move into a related field, such as marketing, branding, project management, technical support or PR. In this module you will research, plan and test ideas leading towards a major body of photographic work. Over twelve weeks students will be guided towards investigating subject of interest using photography (and/or expanded media).

Gitterman Gallery was founded in 2003, after Tom Gitterman was Photography News in the field for 13 years working for Pace/MacGill Gallery , Zabriskie Gallery and Howard Greenberg Gallery. Gitterman Gallery specializes in connoisseur level photographs and photographic based art. Many of our graduates work in freelance positions after their degree.

Informed by literary texts and contemporary publications you will analyse different types of representation. You will do this using philosophical approaches and looking at symbolism. This will help you take a critical approach to contemporary representations. It will help you to adopt an analytical approach to both your photography and your written work.
