PEORIA — Another one of Peoria’s fabulous old homes is getting national attention.
Built in 1932, the brick home at 3125 N. Sheridan Road is listed in a post on the For The Love of Old Houses Facebook page, which has 4 million followers. The house is known by many area residents as the castle on Sheridan because of the turret gracing the front of the house.
Last sold in 2006 for $186,000, the house was listed on March 21 for $249,000, and went pending two days later.

In addition to the turret, which creates a unique entryway and a small dressing room upstairs, the home has many charming architectural features, such as arched doorways, built-ins, hardwood floors and solid wood paneled doors. It has also been updated with a modern kitchen and baths, and a fully finished basement.
The home was featured in the Journal Star in 2009, three years after its owners made a spur-of-the-moment decision to purchase it when they saw the for-sale sign while driving on Sheridan Road. The pair had to sell their residence in Lake of the Woods and downsize to live in the unique home.
